Seth Macfarlane truly sucks November 8, 2007

Ok, so I’m sure you’ve heard of the Writers Guild of America Strike. Well well well, our old friend Seth Macfarlane (Family Guy) is joining the strike. So he’s not going to write family guy to support the loss of funds from internet sales when his show only just recently got picked up by iTunes and the XBox Live Marketplace. Not only that, but sales of the show (I have exact figures) after the cancelation actually caused it to return to television, no doubt making Seth more money.

So, Seth. You’re back only because your fans not only purchased your DVDs, but can you even say with a straight face that you don’t believe downloads, legal or otherwise, had no effect on influencing DVD sales and thus aiding in your show’s return?

Grow up, Seth.

  1. MacFarlane sucks Says:

    Scrubs > Family Guy

  2. Erin Says:

I don’t think that is why he is on strike. He wants to help the writers get more credit for their work. He is a writer too. It’s not just about the internet. I say good job Seth and keep up the good work. People should pay attention and learn from someone who stands up for what they believe in!!!

  3. rowan Says:

Seth mcfarlane is a leftard hypocrit, he sucks, family guy is funny, but the only reason it is funny, is because its joke after joke, and half of them are funny and half of them are retarded.. so on average it is half funny.. who gives a shit what he has to say about anything anyway.

  4. tiberseptim Says:

Family Guy is a laugh a minute. With about 12 jokes every 30 seconds.

  5. matt Says:

About 90% of the cultural references go right over the majority of Family guys fanbase heads. Seth is just one of those guys who did a great show, but then got arrogant and annoying with false power.

American dad sucks, and now family guy is starting to suck and get old. The run off gags were funny back then, but now there getting old. Every episode goes like this:

    something happens

    cultural reference (1-3)
    run off gags (2-3)
    peter says something dumb
    brian counters
    or
    stewie counters

    plot thickens

    cultural reference (1-2)
    run off gags (2-3)
    peter says something dumn
    brian counters again
    or
    stewie counters

    something else happens

    cultural reference (1-2)
    run off gags (2-3)
    stewie says something gay
    louis tries to help

    problem solved

  6. Michael Says:

My problem with Family Guy is the fact that he believes that religon is dumb and that people who practise religon are also dumb. I have have no problem with Atheism, but don’t call me dumb just because I believe in God and you don’t. There are times on the show when an otherwise funny episode of Family Guy is dragged down with an overt slap in the face to religon. Not to mention that he practically flipped the bird to God in his speech at Harvard. I also am not fond of the pot smoking references in the show either. Macfarland strikes me as someone who has tasted sucess and let go to his head.

  7. Shinygoon Says:

This guy sucks. He is filthy rich, but he hates America. If I could, I’d snap a cap on his lame ass.

  8. Seth Greenhouse Gas Says:

Ok ,Seth we get it. You’re a leftwing, atheistic ,psuedo intellectual whose made millions off of stolen ideas. You truly are a epigoni.

  9. The Dude Says:

Seth is not intellectual. The writers of the simpsons, weeds, 30 rock and so on are. His head so full of cultural rubbish, that he just uses Family Guy as a way to let of some steam. The show is just downright annoying. It’s a subcultural Recycle Bin and made for people who don’t have any reading habits. He is one of the leaders of the modern idiocity that is the cancer of America.

I don’t think there is a God either, but that does not give me the right to judge others. I believe in The Kane. Big Daddy Kane that is.

Pardon my English, i’m from Sweds.
    Long Live The Kane

  10. josh Says:

    Seth is a raging faggot.

  11. josh Says:

also he and his henchman know no subtly in either their jokes
    or their politico-social points.

and for fucks sake quit singing in every episode

  12. Bret Kinney Says:

He’s a bigot! He’s against teen culture and only focuses on his past favorites. Family Guy should be scraped and forgotten! >:C

  13. jd Says:

i agree with a lot of things said here. he’s just a huge left wing nutjob who intentionally spews his liberal bullshit propaganda any chance possible. i cant stand how he is such a huge gay rights activist and demands people to treat gays nicely, but then turns around and bashes religion almost as much as bill maher. such a hypocrite. he has no concept of human decency and yet he demands tolerance in his ideology. i use to be an atheist and even i admitted at the time seth’s shows were dirty.

  14. jd Says:

also, his show is so fucking lame now. he steals jokes from the superior cartoon the simpsons, he uses the same formula for each episode ALL the time, he asserts his unnecessary political agenda, and his two shows (soon, a third one) are practically identical. learn to actually make an original funny cartoon show seth. we’re sick of seeing the same lame shock value jokes, your stupid story plots, and how politically incorrect you get. learn from the simpsons or futurama.

  15. ex simpson Says:

I just saw this idiot on t.v. wow! I hate his Simpsons rip-off and always have but now that I’ve heard this bigot speak I must say I’ve never seen such blatant stupidity and bigotry spew out of someone’s mouth all at the same time. You’re an embarrassment Seth, keep talking so more people will realize it.

  16. albert Says:

Man, I hate seth. this huy (yeh, i can’t even call him a H**** B****! that scum) was once a somewhat promising, yet absolutely self-indulgent hypocritical left-winger who, geuss what, got his place in the spotlight by pretending to be some cultured suave for-the-people dude, when he was nothing more than a pawn in fox’s wallet. And he’s with fox, the guys who sprinkled the iraq war with pretty ribbons of red, white and blue, as if we HAD A F***ing purpose to be there in the first place, so what does that say to me?: SELL OUT! I never seen more bias in my whole life, that beats the fact that I live in a fucking RED state! And before you guy’s think I’m gonna rave about shows like south park, simpsons and king of the hill, your nuts…

… I’m off to take a long shower, maybe by then this economy will be fixed… in 2015. Keep an eye out for Marty Mcfly, will ya?

    Albert

  17. JamesN Says:

    WoW. Albert = ownage.

    Seth = lol

  18. albert Says:

I would’ve said more about the shows Family Guy was up against, but I’d probably be taking middle-to-left field on this:

The Simpsons was good… for 2-3 seasons, then the characters just became puppets in the dozen-or-so writers’ hands. I lost the connection to the characters, and when it comes down to it, that just plain sucks (you can tell I’m not venting as much as I did on my last post). At least most of the jokes I hear on TS’ is a little hoho and hahas here and there, but not much…

Since when was King of the Hill LMAO funny?

Futurama fell victim to the same problems as TS, but not as bad…

I might be biased, but South Park never makes me laugh… never. Sorry if I offended any die-hard fans.

Forgotten shows like Oblongs, Duckman, and yes, you geussed it, Ren and Stimpy were each unique in their own individual ways. I liked Duckman for its blatant honesty (at a time when The Critic had this staunch right-wing factor-ish idiocy to it, but then the 4th season became a sell out (Duckmans 4th season. Critic only ran 2 seasons, remember)), Oblongs for the unique characters (Cept the show seemed to be a little more streamline then what its creator had in mind. Curse you, Film Roman (is it?)!), Ren and Stimpy DID gross me out, and it isn’t technically under the adult show term, but for its time, one might say it had as much guts (if not less) as a Ralph Bakshi movie, but less heart morals-wise (and that was blatantly intentional in a funny way, unlike South Park).

again, these are opinions, but arguing is just a way of saying SHUT THE F*** UP! But we all fall victim to anger (and argument), I guess.

  19. albert Says:

Hmm, just so you younger, adolescent ppl know, the last 3 shows I mentioned were cult shows. Wiki them up if your confused.

  20. albert Says:

Well, Ren and Stimpy has a bigger following then the former (2 posts up).

  21. albert Says:

I just love the lack of an “Edit Post” button on these forums, y ‘know?

  22. albert Says:

Er, blogs.. Again, WordPress, install an “Edit Post” button… =(

  23. James Says:

Fuck Seth MacFarlane. He is such an arrogant pompous asshole. What pisses me off about the fucking writer’s strike is that FAMILY GUY HAS NO ORIGINAL FUCKING JOKES. ALL OF THE “JOKES” THEY MAKE ARE JUST REFERENCES TO SHIT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE DONE!!! FUCK ALL OF YOU.

    Typical Family Guy scene:

Peter – You think that’s bad? Remember the time Darth Vader confused his lightsaber with his electric toothbrush?

Cutaway to Darth Vader getting out of bed in the morning, going into the bathroom, grabbing his lightsaber, sticking it in his mouth, and turning it on. The lightsaber slices his head off.

That’s the kind of shit they ALWAYS do. They just rip off of other people’s work, put their own “spin” on it, and air it. Fuck Family Guy. Fuck Seth MacFarlane. Fuck the “writing” (referencing) staff. Fuck all of them – I can’t wait till this show gets cancelled again.

  24. albert Says:

You mean “Fuck the “writing” staff I suppose! =)

  25. albert Says:

Wow, wordpress is so dumb, it took my fake html tags () for real.

  26. albert Says:

Haha, even that was omitted, just image .

  27. albert Says:

I should stop, it doesn’t process the little arrows over the , and .

  28. albert Says:

Hmm, have I lost mine flame? Hmm, I need more Cheese Wizz, Igor…

  29. Ezra Says:

MacFarlane can suck my ass. I hate him so much, I just vandalized his Wikipedia article.

  30. Albert Says:

Yah, so Seth sucks, so what? I think it’s time we realized that seth’s place in the world right now is only because he makes so much cash. Karma will get him, but our economy will still be in the dumps for a damn long while…

  31. albert Says:

(PS: I think this thing is case sensitive)

  32. albert Says:

    … or not.

  33. square.wave Says:

Family Guy has sucked ever since its return from cancellation. I enjoyed the first three seasons, I guess partly because the esoteric pop-culture references were a novelty, and the interplay between Stewie and Brian was good. I guess it big time went to the creators’ heads when they were brought back from cancellation. The show is nowadays just a tiresome vehicle for MacFarlane’s personal beliefs, particularly with the evolution of Brian, basically the insertion of himself directly into the cast of characters. And the flashback-type references? They have become too numerous and too forced. The whole reincarnation of the show has come across as forced and gives off a “trying too hard” feel.

I quit watching about the time when that episode was on showing Brian the dog in bed with his human girlfriend saying something about putting a condom on. Shock value? Maybe, but gratuitous and off-putting to me. I’m a libertarian, so I’m socially pretty liberal, but even I grew tired of the constant hostility toward southerners, conservatives, and particularly religious people (read: Christians).

At some point it became less about witty social satire and more of a propaganda organ, but the cardinal sin is that it’s not even funny.

  34. WildGunsTomcat Says:

Seth Macfarlane is another prime example of the liberal disconnect with mainstream America.

He’s a New Englander that thinks he’s better than the rest of the country, expecially Southern Christian Conservatives (We’ll call them SCC’s for the remainder of this rant.) Every single episode his dramatis personae, Brian, opines about how futile religion is…or how stupid conservatives are, or this or that.

He uses this cartoon to inject his personal political feelings into American culture. And it’s sad because young children watch this show and get indoctrinated into the leftist thinking that this man is spewing into their tv sets.

I can’t wait until this show is over. He’s gotten really bad lately and someone needs to stop him.

  35. Beau Says:

Why is there so much hatred of Southerners?

  36. danecookisfunnytoo Says:

OMG U GUYS NEED TO LEAVE THIS GUY ALONE!!! CAN YOU NOT GET HIS JOKES?!!?! HE IS JUS TRYIN TO BE FUNNY COME ON!!!

I MEAN ISNT IT FUNNY WHEN HE FILLS UP HIS EPISODES WITH CRZY RANDOM FUNNY STUFF??? LIKE THAT FIGHTING CHICKN…O I LOVE IT WHN HE HAS CONWAY TWITY SING!!!! AND I LOVE HOW ALL OF HIS JOKES R LIEK CRZY FLASHBACKS!!! AND I LIEK WATCHIN IT ESPECLLY SO I CAN KNOW HOW SETH FEELS ABOUT THE WORLD AND LIKE WHAT HE THINKS IZ FUNNY…CAUSE THATS IMPORTANT 2 ME GUYZ…PLUS I LOVE ROBOT CHICKEN LOL AND AMERICAN DAD AND MUDKIPS

  37. Sketch Says:

It has been proven that FG is nothing but a Simpson rip off. I recommend watching their clip show from season 4. (Every line was basically, “Remember the time……..”and then a flash back.)

As for Macfarlane, he is a typical rich liberal. (Unamerican.)
I really hate when he mocks my religion and my politial views. Even as a Roman Catholic, I am all for a little joke here and there. (I am a die heart South Park and Simpson fan. Reason being is that they are great shows and it’s fun to laugh at ourselves.) But when you mock someone, that is a different story. I feel like killing that dumb bitch ass dog.

He looks and sounds like possibly the biggest douche in the universe. Matt Groening, Trey Parker & Matt Stone and even Mike Judge should never credit him of being a cartoonist with the filth he puts on TV.

  38. Sketch Says:

Well put WildGunsTomcat. I can’t put it better. It makes me feel how much more New Englanders are douchebags.
    New York City > Boston

  39. LostFan Says:

Seth Macfarlane is literaly single-handedly destroying the youth of America, and making them believe his bull-shit, which is based off of the worst “logical” reasoning I have ever heard. Also everyone at my school believes and argues Seth’s arguments [and the best part about it is that I shoot them down every single time. = ) ] I would also like to note that I live in New England, and yes, there are douchebags around, like Seth, and crazy New England drivers.
